I am based in Halifax, West Yorkshire and began blogging and self-publishing a couple of years ago.
I have self-published two books using Blurb self-publishing and my most recent is the 104 page 'Just Popping Out For an Hour.' This is a collection of my late father's beer mats which he slowly accumulated whilst just popping out for an hour on his weekly trip to the pub to meet a friend, a Thursday night ritual that lasted over forty years.
In full colour with mats dated and brewery history included, this is a fascinating archive for drinkers and pub and brewery history fans to see how things have changed, how companies have come and gone (mainly gone!) as the industry and our relationship with the pub has changed over the years.
The discovery of another box of several hundred mats means that a second volume could well be the next project.
How did you get started as a beer blogger?
An interest in blogging developed as I worked on the pub book project that was fermenting and became 'Just Popping Out For an Hour'.
