Rye 95

The brewers at Two Roads are some pretty busy little beer makers. By my count, Two Roads has released 21 beers in just over a year in the brewing business - some are on in the regular rotation, some are seasonal, some were limited time offerings. That's a lot of different beers in a relatively short period of time - nearly two a month! And, that's not including the firkins they do every other week or so. It's crazy! Crazy good!!! The…See More

Samuel Adams Cold Snap

There's no denying it's winter time. It's freaking cold out there! In fact, it's been beyond freezing for days and days. It appears that there is no end in sight. One might go so far as to say that we're well into a cold snap. When I spied Samuel Adams' new winter brew on tap -…See More

Long Trail Hibernator

I received Hibernator as part of a gift pack of Long Trail brews.  I have the best family in the world! They give me beer as presents! I must say I absolutely love the label!  I could be that bear! That's my kind of…See More

Two Roads Belgian IPA

When I saw that Two Roads was releasing a new brewery-only beer this week, I made sure that I would be there the day it hit the taps. The beer is a Belgian IPA (7% ABV) - is brewed with Belgian and American malts and fermented with a distinctive Belgian Ale yeast that adds a spicy element to the blend. The result is a flavor reminiscent of both the old and the…See More

Rude Parrot

Sometimes I buy a beer because I like a brewery. Sometimes because I like a particular style. Sometimes because it was recommended.I bought this beer because liked the name. And the parrot on the label has a ring through it's beak. And, it's an IPA. Cool name, fun packaging, and my favorite beer style. All good reasons to buy a beer in my ever so humble opinion. That's all…See More

Fuzzy Baby Ducks

Fuzzy Baby Ducks (6.20% ABV) is an American IPA. It was served in an fluted pint.  It was a hazy orange yellow with a nice floof of foam that clung to the glass and left behind amazing lacing. The aroma is a nose full of tart citrus and earthy hoppy goodness. You know what you're getting when you smell this beer. The…See More

Henniker Amber Apparition

The hypnotic, Tim Burton-ish babe on the bottle was enough to attract my attention to this bottle. But the kicker was the brewery. Henniker is a brewery I've been meaning to try since it opened in 2011. So, when I spotted this bottle at the …See More

Snowdrift Vanilla Porter

Cold beer, hot wings, and holiday cheer. Yup, my favorite bar - Porky's Cafe - has it all.Frankly, I don't know what's hotter - the wings or the beertenders. What I do know is that I can almost always count on there being a new-to-me beer on tap. Usually, a seasonal; this week a winter ale from …See More

Slumbrew Snow Angel

Date night found me enjoying hot wings, cold beer, the company of my adoring (if not adorable) husband,  and a new craft beer from the tap list!

Oh, and a hot oil pizza with shrimp! Heavenly!

Don't you love it when the stars align and all is right with the…

Ninkasi Vanilla Oatis

Ninkasi was worshiped as the goddess of beer and alcohol in ancient Sumaria some 6000 thousand years ago. Her name means ‘the lady who fills the mouth'. Her duties as an immortal were to prepare the nectar of the gods - AKA beer - to "satisfy the desire" and "sate the heart".

Naturally, there is a brewery named after her. …

I am by no means an expert on beer . . . other than the fact that I love it.  I typically drink several new-to-me beers a week and I wanted to share my experiences with others . . . so, now I'm blogging about the beers I drink.  I specifically like micro and craft brews the best but I'm not a beer snob.  I'll try just about anything once.

I love visiting brew pubs and breweries the most to gain the full perspective of the brewer and how a particular beer is made.

My review blog is here but I also have another blog that I use to share my experiences cooking, canning, crafting, gardening and all manner of other stuff . . . mostly cooking and cocktails.

So that is me.

This evening hubby and I will be joining the end of the month party at New England Brewing.  I'm looking forward to sampling all of their beers!  And then blogging about it, of course!
