"I used to use IRC a lot, but it was many moons ago. The only potential issue is the international nature of the group, so timing would be difficult. But in principle, it's a good idea and cleaner than Twitter."

Tell us about yourself!: Co-founder of www.IrishCraftBrewer.com, which became Beoir.org in July 2010, I have an interest in Irish craft beer (both promoting and consuming) and home brewing. In March 2008 I moved to Germany, but am still involved in managing the website ofBeoir. No stranger to Germany, I nevertheless embarked on a beery quest to try to find the truly interesting beers of Germany, as I missed the variety I could easily get in Ireland. Still, I can't complain!

How did you get started as a beer blogger?: After moving to Germany in March 2008 I wanted an outlet for my German beer and life experiences, and what better way than a blog? Starting off featuring mostly tasting notes on German beers, it's moved on a bit in the past year, and there's a little bit of travel, a little bit of baking, a little bit of home brewing and a few beer experiments with my German colleagues as test subjects. All in the name of science!
