Washington's Initiative 1100 -- is it a win for all?

There's a lot of excitement around Initiative 1100, which will be on Washington State's fall ballot.Everyone's buzzing about how I-1100 will allows liquor to be sold in non-state run stores. Yes, you heard it right: No more price-fixing of liquor by the state. Private and public businesses will have the ability to apply for licenses to sell liquor to-go at their establishments. And most Washingtonians are rejoicing at the mere thought! And so are big box chains, such as Costco.A…See More

99 Bottles replied to KSWbeer.com's discussion Do you look for single-hop beers? in the group Pacific Northwest Beer Bloggers
"The one-hops from Harmon are quite good, but they don't make them very often. We may see a case of 12 twice a year. Haven't yet cracked into my Mikkeller line-up but will definitely keep your thoughts in mind when I do. "

Serve beer with Thanksgiving dinner

Thanksgiving with us means family, friends, good food, and good beer. This annual pilgrimage brings us to the home of my aunt and uncle, where we all hang around the kitchen, snacking on cheese and crackers as the roast turkey is carved and the side-dishes of stuffing, green beans and yams are transferred into antique serving bowls. Each year I bring an assortment of wine-size bottled beers to share. Though I generally bring six bottles, this year I selected seven different brews...Roslyn…See More

I am co-owner and shopkeeper of 99 Bottles, a specialty beer store in Washington State.

99 Bottles was voted the "Best Beer Store in Western Washington" in King 5 Evening Magazine's 2009 viewer poll!

99 Bottles carries beer 20 Washington state microbreweries, many American craft and macrobrews, and imported beer from nearly 50 countries. At 99 Bottles, choose from 1,000 beers in stock at the time of your visit. And with all the seasonal, limited, and rotating releases, the store books have well-over 2,300 unique brews, many of which rotate in and out of stock. There are also hard ciders and meads. All brews are priced by the bottle, allowing you to mix your brewpacks.

Kegs are also available but require advance order. If you're having a party or need a new beer in that kegerator, check out our list of over 1,200 keg choices!

99 Bottles also offers beer t-shirts, proper beer glassware, openers, gift cards, and beer tasting events.

How did you get started as a beer blogger?
My blogging stems from a desire to share good beers and beer info with others. My weekly posts are generally in the form of an eNewsletter called "The Weekly Brews." One of these days I'll figure out how to get the blog setup on the store's site and blog more regularly. Until then, check out The Weekly Brews, 99 Bottles on facebook, or our more sporadic posts on blogspot.
